At the AGM on October 17 2007 the club proudly presented the following awards and trophies.
Trophy Presentations:
The presentation of trophies began with Peter Hanneman thanking Jenny Spoor for her work in organising the trophies and having the engraving done.
a. Crossan Wave Flight Trophy, for the best wave flight from Pipers -
Matt Gage, 9500ft, on 12th August 2007
b. Crossan Trophy, for the best cross country flight from Pipers -
Ian de Ferranti, 1032kms – Pipers, Temora, Narromine, Cowra, Rylestone
c. BSC Trophy, for the most inspirational instructional flight -
Brian Bailey, nominated by Adam Gill for check flight and outlanding check flight
d. Golf Victor Trophy, for the best performance of a club member at the National Sports Class Championship - Matt Gage. 1st place in the NSW State Competition and 22nd in the Nationals
e.
BSC Trophy for meritorious achievement – Chris Bennett, Peter Edkins and the groundworks team for runway improvements
f. John Phillips Trophy, an encouragement award – Alex Wilkins
g. Monty Cotton “Tiger” Trophy for the best cross-country flight at a BSC camp -
Bill Tugnett and Geoff Sweeney for joint flights of 585kms from Temora.
h. John Maggs trophy for achievement by a pilot with under 100 hrs – Vaughan Sweeney, 5 hours at Pipers (98hrs before flight, 103 when he landed!)
Aarop Stroop informed the meeting that he has the trophy to present to Ian de Ferranti who has won the GFA Decentralised Competition.
