At Bathurst Soaring Club we’re always delighted to welcome new members to the fraternity of soaring!
To make your decision as easy as possible, we’ve summarised your options – including GST!
Option 1: Air experience flight
You’ve decided that you want a “Joy flight” or an “Air Experience Flight? This consists of 3 day membership of the Gliding Federation of Australia or GFA (compulsory as it provides your insurance cover) plus ONE FLIGHT with an instructor in a two seat, dual control glider. Cost including GFA membership for 3 days and insurance is $120 for a flight of approximately 20 minutes.
Option 2: 3 Month Trial Membership
You’d like a few flights, perhaps some useful training if you decide to carry on? A 3 Month Trial Membership could be just what you need! The 3 months trial Membership package gives:
- 3 months Membership of the GFA plus Bathurst Soaring Club or BSC.
- your own Flight Log Book
- Basic Gliding Knowledge, a Gliding Textbook with all your necessary theory
- FIVE Instructional flights
- A promotional video
- more information about the club
- at no further cost to you, the right to take as many further instructional flights as you like during that period paying only normal club rates.
The cost of this package is $400
Option 3: Full Membership
I’ve seen enough, I want to take out Full Membership! This gives you full access to one of the best- equipped and best situated private gliding clubs in Australia! There is a once only joining fee of $165.00 – Full-time students, apprentices, Australian Air League and family of BSC Members are exempt!

Option 4: Mid-week intensive course
you really want to learn and enjoy as quickly as possible! How about a mid-week intensive course with a blend of theoretical and practical instruction – we can’t guarantee you’ll go solo (although some may), but you’ll be well on the way! Accommodation, instruction and 3-month GFA and BSC membership means that when the week is over you can continue to fly for the same low cost as all the full-time BSC members.

For Option 1, just contact us through the web site and choose 'booking' to book your Air Experience Flight. Click here to get information how to get there!
Now, if Option 2 or Option 3 is the one you want, contact us and choose 'membership' and the appropriate application form will be sent to you. Fill out the application form and when at the club, pay the duty Pilot. Make sure the Duty Pilot signs the receipt section! In return, we will give you your Flight Log Book, Gliding Textbook, so that you can start flying right away!
